AI Top 3 (or not)

OK, so I haven't posted anything about American Idol yet. In fact, it's after midnight and I haven't even watched it yet. So, yes, I'm aware I'm too late to vote. But I will try to watch it and get some reviews posted sometime tomorrow. If not, please forgive me.

Believe me, I would have rather spent the evening on the couch fast-forwarding commercials than taking our dog to the Animal Hospital. He ate a pork bone yesterday, and now it's stuck in his, ummm, digestive track.

Long story short - We spent about 3 hours there, and ended up leaving him there overnight for them to try and get things *ahem* UN-stuck. Hopefully everything "comes out" OK, and he'll be good as new in the morning. And I'll be several hundred dollars poorer.

***UPDATE on OCHO - The animal ho$pital called me at 6:00 this morning to let me know that they gave him a couple enemas and pain meds overnight, but they were not successful in dislodging the obstruction, (although they were still happy to take my money...) so I went and picked him up to take him to our regular vet. They're keeping him today to help him pass the bone fragment. They're giving him IV fluids and stool softeners (question: WHY did the animal ho$pital vet not think to give him some kind of laxative or stool softener last night?! Duh.). Here's hoping things work themselves out today....

Thurs a.m. - Nothing worked itself out yesterday, so they kept him overnight on the IV fluids. The vet was talking about sedating him again today and trying to pull out the bone, and if that doesn't work, then $urgery. I REALLY hope it doesn't come to that. She says she's never in 13 years had to open up a dog to remove something from its colon. Because, when you think about it, whatever is stuck there has already passed from his mouth, through his ESOPHAGUS, stomach, and SMALL INTESTINE before it gets to the colon, which is much larger. So...I need to call and check on him.
