please pray for Ryan

My cousin, Ryan, started 30 weeks of chemotherapy today at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. He's a freshman in high school, and just turned 15 last weekend. The week before his birthday his doctor discovered a fairly large malignant tumor wrapped around his lower vertebrae. It’s extremely rare, and it’s called Ewing’s Sarcoma, a cancer of the bone. Some specific things to pray for:
  • Ryan is starting this aggressive treatment as he is still recovering from biopsy surgery on his back. He's in quite a bit of pain, and the chemo is just going to make him feel worse, unfortunately.
  • Ryan has lost weight due to some bowel problems caused by the tumor, and because he's been on a liquid diet & medications for over a week.
  • Ryan may get to come home from the hospital on Sunday, but he has a long & difficult road to recovery ahead of him.
  • His parents, as they will have to make sacrifices in order to work out all of the logistics of his care and schooling.

Cancer sucks. But I'm so glad we serve a God who is bigger than cancer.

You're right...God IS bigger than cancer.

I am praying for God's will in Ryan's life. May God give grace and peace to both Ryan and all his family!
